ACCESS TO DANCE is a program to support and strengthen contemporary dance in Bavaria that was initiated in 2006 by a cooperation among various Munich dance organizations and institutions – Tanzbasis e.V. – in the context of Tanzplan Deutschland.

ACCESS TO DANCE organizes its own international guest performance season and offers residencies for famous choreographers in Munich. By integrating programs for further education in the fields of dance, schools and universities, ACCESS TO DANCE does important communications work in the realm of cultural education. The internet portal www.accesstodance.de reports on all projects. By connecting choreography and film, the initiation of the CHOREOGRAPHIC CAPTURES 2008 art film competition also served to direct attention to contemporary dance. In numerous interdisciplinary activities and an institutional network, ACCESS TO DANCE joins theory and practice, and creates sustainable new structures and formats for dance in Munich and Bavaria.
