Micha Purucker studied architecture, art history and dramatics. As choreographer and artistic director of the Dance Energy Company since 1985, he created 16 evening-length pieces of which the company gave guest performances in Germany and abroad. He was guest instructor at the Korean National University of Arts in Seoul in 1998/99 and guest choreographer for luzerntanz at luzernertheater from 1999 to 2002.
His choreographies have received many prizes, including the supportive prize for interpretive art (1990), the supportive prize for dance of the state capital city of Munich (1997), the special prize of the jury of rheintanzmedia.web and a residency at p.a.c.t. (2002). Purucker was chosen to represent Germany at the Rencontres Chorégraphiques Internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis in Bagnolet near Paris in 1998.
