Charles Linehan trained at the Rambert Academy before collaborating with numerous contemporary dance companies in Europe. He returned to Great Britain in 1994 to establish a dance company of his own. He was choreographer in residence at The Place Theatre from 1996 to 1998. He won the Jerwood Award for Choreography in 1998 and 1999.
The Charles Linehan Company performed at the Royal Festival Hall, Dance Umbrella and The Place Theatre. The company toured Europe (France, Estonia, Finland, Switzerland, Poland, Georgia, Russia, Greece and Croatia) in 2002 and 2003.
Linehan’s piece “Grand Junction” was recently nominated for the Canadian “Dora Mavor Moore Award” in the category of “Outstanding New Choreography.”
