In her solo “Platz nehmen”, Hamburg choreographer Antje Pfundtner asks what it is worth to stand up for and when we are better off staying seated. Usually, people rise on stage the moment the audience takes a seat to watch and listen. Antje Pfundtner prefers to stand up only when she thinks it is right. To rise, to make room, to take action, to rehearse the uprising: Who says you have to stand up to speak and what does it mean, conversely, to remain seated?
Antje Pfundtner repeatedly takes up social issues in her productions. With her team “Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft”, she focuses on a social-community approach and develops formats of artistic sharing alongside her stage plays.
