Boxing makes you strong, calm, mindful, supports honesty with yourself and is one of the oldest existing sports. Whether as a fitness alternative or in the ring, it is subject to strict rules and trains concentration and coordination in addition to physical fitness: a perfect whole-body workout for body and mind!

This year we are offering functional boxing training for the first time, led by Monja Cupic, box coach and fitness trainer at the Mariposa Boxing Club in Munich. Monja’s workshop starts with a mobilisation of the entire body. This is followed by a warm-up and cardio elements for strengthening, which leads into exercises for basic body coordination and speed. In the second half of the class, the participants learn basic elements of boxing technique (including footwork, coordination, proximity and distance) both in individual work and in various partner exercises. After an energetic final burst, the class comes to an end with a cool-down and a joint reflection on the training in the group.

No previous experience is required for this workshop. Please bring comfortable clothes and a towel. The training will be barefoot.

Monja Cupic studied Fitness Economics at the German University for Prevention and Health and thus has a holistic education in fitness and rehabilitation training. She teaches in various Munich studios (including Pilates, Barre, Functional Training). In 2020, she discovered boxing for herself, a sport that has put her in touch with her inner strength like no other before. She is now part of the trainer team of the Munich boxing club Mariposa, where she has been teaching regularly since 2022.
